Baltimore's Vibes, 7 Days a Week
This is the big one, Baltimore. Fell's Point just turned 60 — the Fun Festival takes over six blocks of Thames Street all weekend, free as it's always been. Down at the Harbor, Baltimore By Baltimore throws one last free send-off to Harborplace before the wrecking crews move in. And because Edgar Allan Poe chose October 3rd, 1849 to stumble into legend, the whole city's gone a little gothic for Poe Festival weekend — masquerade ball, ballet, bus tours, the works. Add Smashing Pumpkins at CFG Arena, Chelsea Handler at the Lyric, and a jazz guitarist who plays with both hands tapping the fretboard, and you've got 35 reasons not to stay home today. Lace up.

⭐ Our Bonus Pick
The 60th Annual Fell's Point Fun Festival
Noon till dusk, through Sunday · Thames Street, Fell's Point · Free
Six decades. Six blocks of Thames Street. The Preservation Society's flagship festival returns for its 60th year, and it is, as always, completely free. Food vendors and craft booths anchor the daytime alongside a main stage, while the neighborhood's bars — Cat's Eye Pub chief among them, see Music & Nightlife above — run their own lineups well into the night. It's the single best "just show up and see what happens" day on Baltimore's fall calendar, and the fact that it's lasted 60 years running says everything about how much this city loves it. Get there early, bring cash for the vendors, and don't plan anything else.

That's a Wrap!
That's 35 reasons to leave the house today, Baltimore — and we still didn't get to everything. Sunday eases up, we promise: brunch, culture, and a look at the week ahead.
Until then: yodel it from the rooftops. 🗣️⛰️
Editor's Notes (not for publication)
Verification: Every event above was checked against the venue's own site, a primary ticketing link, or an independent aggregator (baltimore.org, Waterfront Partnership) — none ran on DB status alone without a fresh cross-check today. Several items used subagent research in parallel given the scale of today's harvest (181 raw rows for this one date, by far the biggest day we've pulled this cycle, thanks to Poe Festival + Fell's Point Fun Festival + BXB all overlapping).
Discrepancies resolved: The Black Cat Ball appeared twice in the harvest under different sub-titles ("Gala" vs. "A Cask of Amontillado Masquerade") — confirmed via baltimore.org these are the same event; ran with the fuller title, 7:30–10:30 PM, $149–$199. The BXB lineup had two versions (one naming "DJ Timeless," one naming "Greeyo") — went with the Waterfront Partnership/DB blurb ("Greeyo"), which read as the more authoritative source, but billing should get a click-check before Patrick shares the lineup publicly.
Needs a manual click-check before send: Keystone Korner's Stanley Jordan Trio (ticket link is on instantseats.com, which blocks automated fetches — date is corroborated but time/price came from our DB's last verification pass, not today's live check). The Curious Life of Edgar Allan Poe ballet ticket tiers (Broadway.com-powered checkout, third-party). Michael Longfellow at The Port — one source suggested there may be a second 9:30 PM show in addition to the 7 PM we printed; worth confirming before Patrick posts.
Dark tonight / cut as unverifiable — zero corroboration found anywhere online despite real effort: Club 1722's "Deep Sugar 23rd Anniversary," Holy Frijoles' "GayC/DC," Le Mondo's "Pokemon Drag Show," Moose House's punk bill, The Depot's show, and Our Time Kitchen's "Onyx Blaq Pride" — all six were in the raw harvest with plausible-sounding details, but no venue page, ticketing platform, social post, or aggregator confirmed any of them for Oct 3. Recommend a source-registry check on whoever's feeding these into the harvest.
Cut for wrong dates: BMA's Ashley Minner Jones talk (actually runs Oct 2/9/16, not Oct 3). Belvedere Square's "Family Craft & Music with Common Tone" (actually Dec 6). Manor Mill's "Baltimore Painted Screens" workshop (only a March 22 instance confirmed; no Oct 3 date found). Manor Hill's "Draft Horses & Draft Beers" (last confirmed occurrence was Nov 2025; no 2026 date found).
Cut for lack of verifiable specifics: Galerie Myrtis's "Artist Talk" (the exhibition is real but only a Sept 5 opening reception is documented anywhere — no Oct 3 talk found). MONO Practice's gallery opening (couldn't confirm the gallery or show exist at all). Old Major's "Saturday Scaries" film series (no corroborating source anywhere). The Senator Theatre's Saturday-specific showtimes (the site returned the same lineup regardless of date queried — couldn't confirm what's actually playing Oct 3 versus Oct 2; flagging this whole venue for a live phone/site check rather than printing guessed showtimes).
Correctly excluded by coverage radius: Anthony Rodia's "Insanely Funny Tour" stop was at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis, which is outside our 15-mile-from-the-Inner-Harbor radius — left out per the skill's rule, not an oversight.
No Orioles item: the O's were eliminated from playoff contention Sept 24 and finished their season on the road; nothing to report for Oct 3.
Confidence flags on included items: Prices omitted (not guessed) for the Ottobar main show, Creative Alliance's Burlesque Festival, Teller Fest, and Peabody Heights' GRL PWR day party — none had a published price we could confirm live today. Bennett's Curse hours/pricing weren't posted yet for the 2026 season as of today; flagged as opening night regardless since that's confirmed.
Venue news for the source registry: The Poe House's festival relocation to Lexington Market (demolition at Amity St.) should be noted as a standing change, not a one-day blip — it'll affect how future Poe-related harvesting gets attributed.
Database writes: Verified rows updated to status='Verified' with today's date; duplicate/junk/wrong-date rows set to 'Skipped' so they drop off the public calendar.
Why this edition runs bigger than usual (35 events vs. the normal 20–30): three overlapping citywide draws — Poe Festival weekend, the 60th Fell's Point Fun Festival, and BXB's Harborplace send-off — made for an exceptionally strong harvest day. Trimmed where it made sense (dropped Liv's Tavern, Boordy Vineyards, and a few Creative Alliance workshops that didn't have confirmable specifics) but didn't force the count down artificially on a day this stacked.
