Baltimore's Vibes, 7 Days a Week

Church's out, brunch is on, and Baltimore's not slowing down for anybody. The Ravens fly all the way to Rio to play the Cowboys on international TV, Abell Avenue throws its whole neighborhood a block party, and Metro Baltimore turns into an industrial-goth fever dream for PIG. Throw in classical guitar, a bluegrass triple-header, and the last day of All Things Go out in Columbia, and you've got 27 verified reasons to get up off the couch. Let's go.

🎵 Music & Nightlife

So Near, So Far w/ Cut Through, Citric, Exhibition @ Ottobar

Main Stage goes heavy tonight with a four-band local bill that's all riffs, no filler. Doors at 6 PM, all ages, and it's the kind of lineup that makes you glad you didn't just stay home and doom-scroll.

Noah Lloyd Sparks, Dana Idnay, The Unfathomable Joy & Floating Objects @ Upstairs Ottobar

Four acts, one intimate room, $15 at the door, all ages, doors 5:30 PM. Stick around after the last note — Upstairs flips into Industry Night at 9 PM, free and 21+, service-industry crowd only, so bartenders and line cooks finally get their turn on the dance floor.

Ana Vidovic: Annual Solo Classical Guitar Concert @ An die Musik Live

One of the best classical guitarists alive plays Baltimore's finest listening room. 5 PM, $15–$45. If you've never sat in a quiet room and let a guitar wreck you emotionally, tonight's the night.

Marcus Johnson & Friends @ Keystone Korner

Two sets of smooth, groove-heavy jazz from the D.C.-area pianist who's been packing rooms for two decades. 5 PM and 7:30 PM, $15–$45 — go early or go late, both are the move.

Sunday All Day @ Cat's Eye Pub

Fell's Point's tiniest, best bar runs a full day of live music: The Stock Pot's Gypsy jazz-funk-blues at noon, Radish's self-described "bluegrass-ish" string sounds from 4 PM, and Coyote Rodeo's Asheville-bred experimental bluegrass closing it out at 9 PM till close. Wander in whenever, wander out whenever.

High Zero Festival @ Baltimore Theatre Project

The 28th year of Baltimore's beloved improvised/experimental music festival wraps up tonight, 7:30 PM, $15–$25. Four days of musicians who've never played together before making it up as they go — tonight's the finale.

Cocaine Lamborghinis @ Fadensonnen

Free show at the Charles Village wine bar/beer garden that quietly turned into one of the city's best small live-music rooms. 7:30 PM, no cover. (Heads up: several listings misspell the venue as "Fadensonne," "Fadensonnnen," etc. — it's Fadensonnen, 3 W 23rd St.)

PIG w/ Cyanotic, Steven Archer (Ego Likeness/Stoneburner) & DJ Hell O'Kitty @ Metro Baltimore

Industrial legend PIG brings the leather, the fog machines, and the eyeliner to Metro. Doors 7 PM, show 8 PM, $25 GA, all ages. This is not a subtle night.

All Things Go Music Festival (Day 2) @ Merriweather Post Pavilion

The festival's finale day, gates at 11 AM. Not cheap ($169.25–$1,020.30) and not in the city, but it's Merriweather on a perfect late-September Sunday, and that's worth the drive to Columbia.

🎤 Comedy

Tony Roberts: Special Event @ Baltimore Comedy Factory

Doors 6 PM, show 7 PM. A special one-off from a road comic who knows how to work a room.

Highwire Repertory: Comedy @ Highwire Improv

Free, 5:30 PM. The Season 24 Repertory teams take the stage with new formats — Highwire's improv is consistently one of the best free nights out in the city, and today it's preceded by the company's all-community meeting at 4 PM if you want to make an afternoon of it.

Kerwin Claiborne @ Magooby's Joke House

7 PM show, 6:30 doors, 18+. The Instagram star behind Ms. Mary and Uncle Leroy brings his viral characters to the stage live. Two-item minimum per person.

New Material Night @ The Port Comedy Club

Free, doors 7:30 PM, show 8 PM. Local comics work out brand-new jokes in front of a live room — unpolished, unpredictable, and often the funniest show of the week for it.

🎨 Arts & Culture

Art To Dine For: Blueprints of Nature @ Druid Hill Park (Creative Alliance)

10 AM, $75. Naturalist Anne Draddy leads a guided walk through Druid Hill's 476 acres, then artist Jennifer Yablonski helps you turn what you gathered into cyanotype prints, capped with a picnic lunch in a park pavilion. A genuinely lovely way to spend a Sunday morning outdoors.

Unmistakably Human @ Creative Alliance

Final days to catch this exhibition of recent works by signature members of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. Free, gallery hours.

Kim's Convenience @ Everyman Theatre

Last chance — this run closes today. Check the box office for today's exact curtain time before you head over.

Profs & Pints Baltimore: Of Gods and Monsters @ Guilford Hall Brewery

4 PM. A lecture on mythology and monsters over a pint, because that's a very Baltimore way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

🎬 Screen Time

Traces of Home (w/ Virtual Q&A) @ SNF Parkway Theatre

4 PM, $16.79. Filmmaker Colette Ghunim traces her family's ancestral homes in Mexico and Palestine alongside her parents, followed by a live virtual Q&A. Presented in partnership with La Sonora.

If I Go Will They Miss Me @ The Senator Theatre

1 PM, 4 PM, and 7 PM. A 12-year-old in Watts, California tries to reach his incarcerated father while visions of airplanes and Greek gods trail him through his days — one of the more talked-about indies playing Baltimore screens right now.

⚾ Sports & Outdoors

Ravens @ Cowboys, live from Rio de Janeiro

Kickoff 4:25 PM ET on CBS. The Ravens fly to Brazil to play Dallas at the Maracanã in the NFL's international series — a genuinely weird and cool spectacle even by this league's standards. Catch it at Guilford Hall Brewery's restaurant-only watch party (4:20–8 PM, RSVP via OpenTable or call 410-305-9953) or wherever you do your Sunday football.

Live Racing @ Laurel Park

A full 10-race card runs this afternoon as Laurel's fall meet continues. (We couldn't pin down today's exact first-post time — check the track's site before you go.) The Orioles and Ravens leave a gap in the sports calendar most Sundays; Laurel fills it with actual horses running actual races, which counts.

🦀 Community, Food & Family

Drag Brunch LIVE w/ Gizele Monáe @ The Lord Baltimore Hotel

Noon–2 PM, $16.30 GA (brunch and drinks separate). Baltimore's only 100%-live-vocals drag show — no lip-syncing, all belting — at Poe's Magic Theatre inside the hotel.

Fell's Point Walking Tour @ Fell's Point

9:30 AM, Baltimore Heritage's history walk through the neighborhood that put Baltimore on the map as a waterfront town in the 1730s. Good coffee-and-comfortable-shoes kind of morning.

Baltimore Record Bazaar @ Peabody Heights Brewery

Free, noon start. Dig through crates of vinyl with a beer in hand — about as Baltimore-Sunday as it gets.

Restoration Shop Tour @ National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation

10:30 AM. Go behind the scenes where the museum (freshly renamed from the B&O Railroad Museum this summer) restores its historic locomotives. Genuinely fascinating if you've never seen a 19th-century engine mid-repair.

BMore Queenside Chess @ Red Emma's

2 PM, drop-in, all levels welcome. Bring your own set or use theirs — just show up ready to think a few moves ahead.

⭐ Our Bonus Pick

Abell Community Street Fair @ Abell Avenue & 32nd Street

Noon–5 PM · Free · Abell Avenue & 32nd Street, Baltimore, MD 21218

This year's theme is "Over the Moon" — sci-fi and outer-space vibes for the Abell Improvement Association's biggest fundraiser of the year. Porch concerts up and down the block from DJ Mills, Missy Malouff, Dominique Diglio, and more, a silent auction stacked with local-artisan prizes, kid-friendly activities, and food and drinks from neighborhood spots all afternoon. It's free, it's a short walk in any direction if you live in North Baltimore, and it is exactly the kind of neighbor-powered, no-corporate-sponsor-in-sight event that makes this city what it is. Go say hi to your city.

That's a Wrap!

That's 27 verified things happening in Baltimore tomorrow — a street fair, a festival finale, an industrial-goth invasion, and a football game 4,700 miles away, all in one Sunday. Rest up tonight, because Monday brings Metal Monday and the usual midweek grind back with it. Baltimore doesn't stop being Baltimore just because it's a school night.

Until then: yodel it from the rooftops. 🗣️⛰️
