Baltimore's Vibes, 7 Days a Week

Midweek and the city's still got some texture to it. Edgar Allan Poe's ghost gets a one-man séance at Theatre Project tonight, Igorrr is dragging avant-garde chaos into Baltimore Soundstage, and if neither of those is your speed, the Enoch Pratt Central branch is teaching teenagers zombie makeup, which might be the most Baltimore sentence in this whole edition. 23 events below, including a reopened Federal Hill institution and two free UMBC exhibitions. Hump day, handled — let's get into it.

⭐ Our Bonus Pick

ALONE... Tales from Edgar Allan Poe @ Baltimore Theatre Project

7:30 PM · Baltimore Theatre Project · $25 GA · runs through Oct. 18

Poe died in Baltimore. He's buried in Baltimore. And tonight, a one-man gothic staging of his own words opens two miles from his grave. Daniel Hall Kuhn performs The Tell-Tale Heart, The Raven, and more, solo, in a production built for exactly this kind of October night — no gimmicks, no projection-mapped nonsense, just Poe's prose landing the way it's supposed to land: unsettling, a little thrilling, completely alive. If you're going to see one thing this week, let it be the guy who basically invented American gothic, performed a stone's throw from where he actually died.

That's a Wrap!

That's 23 for your Wednesday — go stitch something, go scream at a quartet of hardcore bands, go learn zombie makeup, go welcome the 8x10 back, or go sit in the dark with Poe. Tomorrow's looking a lot bigger (the harvest's already showing triple the music lineup), so rest up. Until then: yodel it from the rooftops. 🗣️⛰️
